B.A.R.C. is one of the Park District's most unique properties, and it is improving all the time with the help of a team of volunteer stewards. The Park District hopes to turn B.A.R.C. into "THE" alternative park for all. The Master Plan tells most of the story with plans for additional indoor and outdoor features. That said, the Burton Adventure Recreation Center is impressive as it stands with an indoor inline skating facility, an outdoor skate bowl, a newly expanded and improved disc golf course, a community garden dubbed "Eden Reframed," and a NEW CEMENT PUMP TRACK! (thanks to the vision and hard work of RJ's Kids and grant funding from the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office). More is on the way, including a paved perimeter walking path, outdoor game tables, art pieces, and a climbing boulder!
You too can help create Vashon's most unique alternative park. Join the B.A.R.C. Stewards. To become a BARC Steward or receive email news about the park, please contact the Vashon Park District at info@vashonparks.org.
