This year our camps will run Monday - Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No camp the week of July 4th.
In our four-day camps, beginner skateboarders will learn skateboard mechanics and basic riding skills such as balance, carving, riding transitions, and dropping-in.
Advanced skaters learn grinds, ollies, and airs, and have the chance to learn to drop in on bigger ramps, and learn flip tricks. Skaters will be assessed on the first day of the session and the lessons will be adapted to their ability. All participants are educated in skateboard safety, which includes ways to fall that minimize injury.
Equipment Vashon Park District will have skateboards, helmets, and pads available for participants. Registrants can also bring their own equipment. Equipment must fit properly and be in good working order. VPD is not responsible for damage to equipment brought by campers. What to bring Please send your child with a water bottle, snacks, and lunch to have during breaks. We anticipate Vashon Food Bank having lunch available at BARC again this summer, but we do not yet have details.
